Amanda Hunter argued and won a motion to dismiss a contribution claim against a modular home manufacturer in Ft. Peck Tribal Court.  The manufacturer had been sued as a third-party defendant by a contractor facing a claim that he had negligently installed the modular home.  The court held the Supreme Court’s decision in Montana v. United States and its progeny preclude the court from exercising jurisdiction over the manufacturer and also held the contractor had failed to state a claim. Tom Singer was on the brief with Ms. Hunter.
